Robin Glantz, MFT

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I provide psychotherapy services for adults and couples. My specialties include: end of life and grief support for individuals, couples and families, individual and couples therapy, support through life transitions, and trauma recovery.

Grief therapy and end of life counseling

I am honored to support those in grief, due to the loss of a loved one, or individuals facing end of life transition, and their loved ones.

Dying people often protect their loved ones from parts of their experience, and the result can be isolating for the person and their loved ones alike. I provide a safe place for people to explore the breadth of emotions associated with life drawing to a close and offer tools that help people connect with their loved ones in a more authentic way.

I feel deeply fulfilled when I am able to help the bereaved gradually put the pieces of their lives back together.

Grief often lasts longer than anyone wants or expects. When grieving, it is so important to get support from family, friends and a knowledgeable, compassionate therapist. I offer both individual therapy, as well as grief groups, where bereaved individuals can explore and learn to accept their loss. By receiving the support of others who are at a similar place in their grief journey, grieving individuals can once again feel joy in their lives.

I was drawn to this work as a result of significant losses in my life, when I learned that coping with my own grief needed to include sharing my pain with others. I have provided grief and end of life services through these respected organizations: Hospice by the Bay, CPMC, Coming Home Hospice, Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, and Milton Marks Family Camp.

Therapy for individuals and couples

As their guide and companion, I help my clients heal past wounds, so that they can become open to all of the joy and possibilities that life has to offer. I specialize in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), a healing-oriented treatment modality, where “undoing aloneness” is the basic tenet. It is my goal that through working with me, my clients gain more connection with me, themselves, the significant people in their lives, and the community at large.
